Naresuan University International College (NUIC) co-hosted the 2018 Innovation and Educations for Sustainable Development Goals (IESDG) with the Faculty of Education, Naresuan University on August 31, 2018.
Sustainable development is not a new principle but it has long been practiced by a lot of organizations in Thailand. Despite adopting the principle, the organizations, however, may not become fully aware of the benefits that “sustainability” could bring to them, the Thai society, communities as well as environment, whereas today large firms worldwide see sustainable development as the “heart” of their business operations. The Faculty of Education, NU recognizes the significance of sustainability, hence this international conference. The Faculty of Education collaborated with other universities and faculties to make the conference possible.
The conference was a rare opportunity to gather intellectuals from different sectors of society. Distinguished keynote speaker as well as guest speakers were invited as panelists. Miss Misako Ito from UNESCO (The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) was the honorable keynote speaker. Guest speakers were from Thailand, Japan, China, and the Philippines. Oral presentations took place in the afternoon session.
A plaque of appreciation was awarded to NUIC and was gratefully accepted by the Director of NUIC, Dr. Supichaya Meesad. Two of NUIC lecturers were invited to be the masters of ceremony – Dr. Eugenia A. Boa and Mr. Chon Neville.
NUIC will strive to be a part of causes enhancing its research and development for the benefit of the College, the University and the nation.
