“English Training Program for Primary School English Teachers” is a project collaboratively organized between Naresuan University International College (NUIC) and PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP) during March 27-29, 2019 at the Ekathosot Building, Naresuan University. Mr. Weerawat Auam-Sroi, the Vice President, S1 Production Operations, PTTEP presided over the opening ceremony of the project. PTTEP funded the workshop amounting to 350,000 baht which was presented to Dr. Supichaya Meesad, the Director of NUIC.
It’s well known that English training is very important to develop the English skills of teachers in preparing lessons, speaking confidently and, of course, developing students. This training is specially organized as a part of the academic services of NUIC with the help of NUIC’s very own lecturers. This training covered the following topics: Pronunciation Techniques, Problem Based learning, Project Based Learning, Design Teaching, Social Media and Gamification and Project Based Learning which were taught by the following lecturers namely: Miss Saranporn Kirdkoh, Miss Sarunya Tarat, Miss Pirakorn Seekhem, Miss Jarah Gertudes M. Espiritu, Dr. Eugenia A. Boa and Mr. Chon Neville.
English language training for primary schools teachers aimed to develop the potential of teachers of English in primary schools, including learning to use new techniques and teaching methods, creating a positive atmosphere, and organizing learning activities that encourage students to have a positive attitude towards learning English as well as media development and innovation which will bring valuable knowledge that will be useful in teaching and enhancing the English skills of students.
There were 70 participants from five provinces in the lower northern part of Thailand: Phitsanulok, Uttaradit, Phichit, Kampaengphet and Sukhothai.
This project has been running for five years since 2015. NUIC is immensely grateful for PTTEP for making this academic service possible.
