NUIC STAR 2019 Singing Competition

Big congratulations to all the winners of the recently concluded NUIC Star 2019 Singing and Cheering Competitions!

The NUIC Academic Services Section organized a singing competition on August 19, 2019, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Faculty of Science, Naresuan University which coincided with the celebration of the Science Week. The main objectives of this singing competition were:

1) To provide opportunity for high school students to enhance their English competency;

2) To motivate students to use English language; and

3) To promote NUIC at the same time.

There were 79 students from different schools during the elimination round. Forty (40) best students advanced to the final round. The contestants were from nine (9) provinces in Phitsanulok, Kamphaengphet, Pichit, Uttaradit, Nakhonsawan, Sukhothai, Uthaitani, Phetchabun and Tak. Through this academic service, NUIC would provide a project that will benefit the community.

The winners are as follows:

NUIC Star 2019 Grand Winner – Mr. Wattanai Jaithamdee (Udomdarunee)

1st Runner-up – Ms. Panpailin Maneerattanasophon (Takpittayakhom)

2nd Runner-up – Ms. Kanokphorn Iamsamran (Satri Nakonsawan)

Five special prizes, are as follows:

1) Natsaree Sang-Hirun (Bangkrathumpitayakom)

2) Phuwarit Thongpin (Bungsamphan Wittayakom)

3) Wannipa Phumkhokrak (Samngamchanupatam)

4) Asmar Chenkarn (Takhliprachasan)

5) Pannada Supparan (NU Demonstration School)

For the Cheering Competition category, there were four schools comprising of 7-10 students from four (4) high schools. The winners are (1) Samngamchanupatan, Phichit; (2) Uttaradit Darunee, Uttaradit; (3) Sawananan Wittaya School, Sukhothai; and (4) Takpittayakom, Tak.

It was indeed a grand opportunity for students joining this activity and enhancing their competency in English language.

The masters of ceremony were Aj. Pirakorn Seekhem and Aj. Andris Andhita. The board of judges were Aj. Lorenzo Garin, Aj. Sopit Jenpradab and Mr. Kittisak Suriya.

The project would not have been possible without the help and support of the NUIC administrators, lecturers and supporting staff and the contestants from the nine provinces mentioned above.
