On June 25, 2024, Associate Professor Dr. Sirimas Hengrasmee, Director of NUIC, alongside Associate Professor Dr. Sasima Charoenkit, Deputy Director for Academic Affairs and Research, and EBC program lecturers, cordially welcomed Mr. Kamarul Ariffin Mansor, Senior Lecturer (Assistant Professor) from the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the Faculty of Computer and Mathematical Sciences, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Kedah Branch, Malaysia.
Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) is among the largest public universities in Malaysia, providing a comprehensive range of academic programs from diploma to doctoral levels across diverse disciplines, including engineering, business, arts, sciences, and social sciences.
During his visit, Mr. Kamarul engaged in discussions with NUIC administrators and faculty members regarding prospective research collaborations, research matching grants, student cultural exchanges, and lecturer exchanges. The proposed initiatives, developed during these meetings, are anticipated to not only enhance the academic environment but also facilitate joint research efforts and knowledge exchange between the two institutions.
On June 26-27, 2024, Mr. Kamarul conducted a six-hour workshop titled "Data Analytics using IBM SPSS Statistics: From Survey Data to Research Report" for NUIC fourth-year students currently engaged in their undergraduate theses. The workshop comprehensively covered the essential principles of applying statistics to research projects, including survey data preparation, SPSS analysis, and presenting research data in research reports.
Additionally, Mr. Kamarul toured the Naresuan Textile Museum and Art Gallery to appreciate the craftsmanship of textiles and artworks and to exchange insights on the preservation of cultural heritage between Thai and Malay communities. His visit was guided by the staff from the Textile Museum.
