The 15th PTTEP English Quiz 2024
Naresuan University International College (NUIC), in collaboration with PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited, held the 15th PTTEP English Quiz 2024 under the theme "From We to World." The event took place at Topland Hotel, Phitsanulok, on November 27, 2024. The PTTEP English Quiz is an annual event aimed at fostering and enhancing the English language skills of high school students. PTTEP generously sponsored this event with a contribution of 700,000 baht.
Mr. Sarayut Niamrit, Vice President of the S1 Production Operations Department at PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited, presided over the event. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sarintip Tantanee, Acting President of Naresuan University, delivered the welcome speech. The reporting speech was presented by Ms. Ing-Orn Soisuwan, Manager of the Public Affairs Section at PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited, alongside Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sirimas Hengrasmee, Director of NUIC, and other executives who participated in the ceremony.
A special lecture was given by Mr. Ratchakrit Pariyapunyapha, known as (ครูเติ๊ก Turk TK), an English-speaking influencer on Instagram and TikTok. He discussed the engaging topic of “Culture Shock” and also served as the master of ceremonies for the final round of the competition, creating an entertaining and engaging experience for the participating high school students.
Students representing various provinces participated in the event, including Phitsanulok, Uttaradit, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Phetchabun, Tak, Uthai Thani, Nakhon Sawan, and Sukhothai. A total of 66 schools from these nine provinces in the Lower Northern Region of Thailand took part in the competition. Each team consisted of two students and a teacher (coach) from each school. All participating school will receive certificates of participation. The 66 teams competed in reading, question and answer (Q&A), writing, and speech competitions. The Q&A category included three topics on: PTTEP, Science and Environment, and Global Current Issues.
The select judge panel for the competition was composed of experts from all departments of NUIC.
The prizes awarded in the competition were as follows:
1. **First-Prize Award**: 40,000 baht, along with a certificate and a plaque.
2. **First Runner-up Award**: 20,000 baht, along with a certificate and a plaque.
3. **Second Runner-up Award**: 16,000 baht, along with a certificate and a plaque.
4. **Third Runner-up Award**: 12,000 baht, along with a certificate and a plaque.
Additional prizes included:
1. **Special Awards**: 3,000 baht (totaling 24,000 baht) each for 8 semi-finalist teams, along with certificates.
2. **Appreciation Awards**: A total of 15,000 baht awarded to 5 teams, each receiving certificates.
