On July 13, 2023 (Thursday) at 9:00 – 12:00, NUIC 309, the International College celebrated the Wai Kru Ceremony to honor the lecturers. The ceremony involved students showing esteem and humility toward their teachers. The purposes of the NUIC Wai Kru Ceremony are for students to pay respect to their teachers, convey their appreciation, and strengthen the student-teacher relationship. During the ceremony, the following were presented to NUIC lecturers: 1) Pedestal tray of NUIC Student Club which means “Blooming with joy.” The flowers signify that they bloom and turn toward the light, making them beautiful. 2) Pedestal tray of fourth-year students: “Hirankanok” indicates that the value is hidden with auspicious meaning. Hiran Kanok consists of Thong Yod, Foi Thong, and Med kanoon (jackfruit seeds), each of which represents wealth, prosperity, being supported by people, and having a long life. Those desserts are in tribute to the teachers who have guided students until now. 3) Pedestal tray of third-year students: “Hope’s Fried Chicken.” Fried chicken is a simple food and can be eaten by all genders and ages. It can meet the needs of people who want to socialize with something easy to eat. It’s the same with everyone from different families. Different nationalities, whether students or professors can be together as easily as this fried chicken, and make the students and professors to join a beautiful time together. 4) Pedestal tray of second-year students: “Our teacher us our value”. The description of the gift basket is the value of teachers in teaching and producing students to benefit the nation in the future. 5) Pedestal tray of first-year students: “The light of learning.” The description is that teachers ignite students’ inspiration and light the way to success. After the students showed their appreciation to NUIC lecturers, the Pinning Ceremony ensued. The first-year and second-year students received their NUIC pins officially welcoming them into the NUIC family. Supporting staff of NUIC likewise joined the events.
