NUIC Gears Up for Future Success with Strategic Planning and Staff Development Initiatives
Naresuan University International College (NUIC) embarked on a pivotal week of activities aimed at solidifying its future direction and empowering its staff. The College commenced with a Revised NUIC Strategic Planning session on June 9, 2025, at NUIC, followed by a comprehensive NUIC Staff Development Project from June 10-11, 2025, at the scenic Bluesky Resort Khaokho, Phetchabun Province.
The project was led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sirimas Henrasmee, the College Director, also served as the speaker and moderator. Both academic and non-academic staff from the College attended the project.
The strategic planning session on June 9th focused on a crucial gathering for NUIC leadership and stakeholders to review and refine the institution’s long-term objectives and strategies. This revised planning is a testament to NUIC’s commitment to continuous improvement and adaptability in an ever-evolving academic landscape.
Following the strategic planning, a two-day Staff Development Project was organized, providing an engaging and insightful experience for all NUIC personnel. Designed to foster a stronger, more cohesive, and self-aware workforce, the project is structured around key themes of self and team understanding, culminating in practical team-building activities.
The development project kicked off with “Settling” activities (Tasks 1-2), setting the stage for deeper introspection. A significant component of the first day will be “Understand Yourself,” featuring Task 3: “What is DISC?” This segment introduced staff to the DISC assessment, a widely recognized tool for understanding individual behavioral styles and preferences.
The second day shifted to focus on “Understanding Your Teammates,” with Task 4: “Who is your team?” This encouraged staff to apply their newfound understanding of behavioral styles to comprehend their colleagues better, fostering improved communication and collaboration within their respective teams.
The program then transitioned into practical application with a dedicated “Team-Building Activity” (Task 5: Teamwork Challenges). This section incorporates various “Teamwork Challenges,” including “Group Task Challenges Brief” and “Planning and Execution” phases. These hands-on activities were designed to put theoretical knowledge into practice, enhancing problem-solving skills, communication, and collective efficiency.
A crucial aspect of the Staff Development Project will be the exploration of “Personal Interests Alignment to NUIC Goals,” and the development of “Individual Development Plan and NUIC’s Goals.” This segment highlights NUIC’s dedication to supporting individual growth while ensuring that personal aspirations are harmonized with the broader institutional objectives. The ultimate goal is to reinforce how individual contributions directly impact “NUIC’s Goals.”
Both the strategic planning session and the staff development project underscore NUIC’s proactive approach to organizational excellence. By investing in its strategic direction and the professional growth of its staff, NUIC aims to strengthen its foundation, enhance its capabilities, and achieve its overarching mission.
