NUIC attended Thai National Flag Day 2026

On 28 September 2026 at 8:00 a.m., NUIC’s supporting staff attended the Thai National Flag Day ceremony at the flagpole in front of the Office of the President, Naresuan University.

The ceremony brought together Naresuan University personnel to stand respectfully for the Thai national flag and sing the Thai National Anthem in observance of Thai National Flag Day (28 September).

Thai National Flag Day commemorates the day His Majesty King Vajiravudh (King Rama VI) promulgated the amended Flag Act, B.E. 2460 (1917), on 28 September 1917, establishing the Tricolour Flag (Thong Trairong) as Thailand’s national flag.

The Cabinet approved 28 September as Thai National Flag Day on 20 September 2016, with the first observance held on 28 September 2017. The day aims to promote national pride and commemorate the royal contribution of King Vajiravudh, who granted the Tricolour Flag as Thailand’s national flag.

The ceremony also underscores the importance of respect for the national flag and promotes unity, national pride, and appreciation of Thailand’s national identity.
