Strengthening International Friendship through Culture, Hospitality, and Community Engagement
Naresuan University International College (NUIC) was delighted to host students and faculty members from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), Indonesia, as part of the NUIC–UNY Student Exchange Program 2026.
Throughout the program, participants experienced Thailand’s rich cultural heritage, hospitality excellence, and community-based tourism through a series of meaningful activities.
🏛️ Discovering Thailand’s Heritage
The delegation visited the Sukhothai Historical Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where they explored the origins of the Thai Kingdom and gained a deeper appreciation of Thailand’s remarkable history and cultural legacy.
🍽️ Professional Table Manners at Yodia Heritage Hotel
Students also participated in an exclusive Table Manners and Dining Etiquette Workshop at Yodia Heritage Hotel, where they learned international dining etiquette and hospitality professionalism. This memorable learning experience was generously sponsored by Dr. Nongnuch Boonklum, Director of Naresuan University International College, whose continuous support enriches our students’ global learning opportunities.
🤝 Community-Based Tourism & Cultural Exchange
The program continued with a visit to Ban Ha Songkhwe Community, Uttaradit Province, where students engaged in community service and cultural exchange activities. Participants joined a traditional tie-dye workshop, explored local attractions, and shared knowledge by introducing the Indonesian art of Batik-making to members of the local community. This mutual exchange celebrated cultural diversity while strengthening people-to-people connections between Thailand and Indonesia.
At NUIC, we believe that international education extends beyond the classroom. Through experiences like these, students develop intercultural competence, global perspectives, and lifelong friendships while making meaningful contributions to local communities.
